The 7th generation Polo to go on sale early 2022 in South Africa

The new Polo is currently being manufactured at Volkswagen’s plant in Kariega for both local and international markets. Locally the Polo holds 21.8% of the market share in the A0 segment, having sold over 10000 vehicles in 2021 alone and 73439 units since the introduction of the sixth-generation polo three years ago.

Equally impressive is that 326000 units of the sixth generation Polo were manufactured and exported to international markets.

Since the first Volkswagen Polo was launched in 1996, South Africans have fallen in love with the derivative and it now has an almost cult-like following, with the Seventh generation going on sale early in 2022 locally with the GTI variant following later in the year, it is almost certain to continue being a sales success both locally and abroad.
